Spring Break (April 12th)

The pictures of this trip are on http://picasaweb.google.com/mr.walker.tkd23, http://picasaweb.google.com/mr.walker.tkd6, and http://picasaweb.google.com/mr.walker.tkd7.

I woke up at 11 a.m. and Bjoernar and I ate breakfast at the hostel. Once we checked out and put out bags in the luggage room, we walked to Elephant Trunk Hill, purchased our tickets and went to go climb it. When we reached the top, we could see some of Guilin city and the Li river. Afterwards, we walked to a small alley to eat lunch. While we were eating, it started to pour, but stopped once we were done. We then walked to Seven Star Scenic Park, which has a zoo, seven karst mountains, a cave, and an intricate bridge. We only had an hour and a half before it closed, so we went to the Forest of Steele (which wasn't that impressive). I went to the zoo (bumping into some monkeys on the way) while Bjoernar went to the cave. The zoo, which was close to closing, was pretty large. They had all types of mammals, reptiles and birds there. I met up with Bjoernar after the zoo closed and we walked and took the bus back to the hostel. We picked up our luggage from the hostel, took a taxi to the airport bus, took the bus to the airport, checked in for our flight and waited/played cards for about 2 hours before our plane left at 11:30 p.m.. We arrived in Chengdu around 1 a.m., got home around 2 a.m. and I went to sleep around 3:30 a.m..
