From Saturday (January 31) through Wednesday (February 4), not too much happened. The weekend I spent relaxing since I had been traveling so much during the break. During the week, I just went to class for the most part. Nothing too interesting happened until Thursday, Kevin's birthday. No one really knew it was his birthday, but once we found out, we had to celebrate it. We went to Zoe's, a western restaurant, where I ordered a BLT. Kevin ordered carrot cake and got a second one for free, which the waitresses brought out with a candle on it. Kevin passed around the second piece of cake and we all took a bite.

We then went over to Emma's apartment and talked for a while. Christie, Gloria, Jared, Kevin, Alex (a Chinese guy Jared met who works at a bank but used to be a chef), and myself all hung out for a while. Jared and Kevin drank a bottle of baijiu.

Jared told us that he was planning on blowing up the mannequin that's in his room (their apartment came with a mannequin) with fireworks that night, so he and Gloria left and went to the roof of the other building of Jared's place and set it up. The rest of us were going to go there too, but we couldn't really get Kevin to stand up because he was already drunk by this point. After a couple of minutes, he finally got up and we went over to the other building. Jared had already started by the time we go there. The fireworks were so loud, we thought someone would come up. It took three tries to blow up the mannequin.

After Gloria and I had enough, we went to Jared's apartment and waited for them there because we didn't want to get caught. Everyone else then came down and we stayed in the apartment until I got tired and went home.
