Chunxi Road and Tianfu Square

On Wednesday (March 11), I walked to Culture class around 1 p.m. Our professor went over birth control and the "One Child Policy". He even told us a personal story about it that he asked us to keep inside the classroom, so unfortunately, I won't be sharing it on here. After class, I met Mabel by the West gate and the two of us went to take the bus to Chunxi Road (a shopping area with hundreds, if not thousands, of shops that I had been to before with Jared, Caitlin, Gloria, Christie and Emma). On our way there, the bus took out the side mirror of another bus. The drivers got out and started arguing with one another. Once they finished arguing, our bus just kept driving as if nothing had happened. When we arrived at Chunxi Road, we walked around. We grabbed some tea and walked to the seafood market. The seafood market had such variety. It had lobsters, all types of fish, turtles, squid, and things I don't even know the names of. One was a shell with this gross, mushy thing coming out of it. Another one was a fish that I had seen before on t.v. that swims on the bottom of the ocean floor, has both of its eyes on one side, and blends in with the color of the sand. From there, the two of us walked to a department store to browse. On the bottom floor, was a grocery store and some restaurants in which we ate dinner. After dinner, we walked to Tianfu Square (the large city square decorated with fountains and flowers). Right as we got there though, the fountains, which are programmed to do light shows every couple of minutes, were shut off. I was a little disappointed.

A display in front of a department store. Those are giant pillows!

Mabel's husband then picked us up, and on our way back to my apartment, we discussed where we could travel to that coming weekend and for the May 1st national holiday.
